Alan
£15.00 – £30.00
Alan is our orphaned alpaca cria who joined us in August 2021 at only 6 weeks old after his mum suddenly passed away and his previous owners had no other female alpacas to look after him. Alan has settled in well with our mums and babies, and loves a good play with the baby llamas. Alan is on the bottle, receiving 6 feeds a day which adds up to around 2 litres a day. Our llamas are looking after him and teaching him all his manners that he needs to grow into a respectful camelid when he is older. Alan will require bottle feeding until he around 7 months old and his bottles consist of half formula and half goats milk.
In order for Alan to mature properly, and grow up knowing he is a camelid and not a human (as that would be very dangerous), it is vitally important that we do not baby talk to him, or cuddle him etc at this point, we are just a milk supply and nothing more at this point. This does mean that Alan is not available to meet anyone at the moment, but he is living in the field with our llama mums and babies, and will be able to be seen!
Alan also came to us with a few eye issues, and there appears to be long lasting damage to one eye, meaning his eye sight is not great, although he does not let this slow him down!
Adopting Alan will help towards his milk bill, which is going to be huge by the time he is old enough to be weaned!
