Steve joined Nidderdale Llamas in September 2018 with his half brothers Neville and Mike – all sharing Diego as their dad. The three of them have remained best friends, despite being completely different in nature. Steve is definitely the sensible one of the group, he has his head screwed on, he is intelligent and a quick learner, any new tasks, and Steve is happy to give it a go. He is not boring or well behaved all the time, he just knows when is the right time for fun and games! Within the herd, Steve is probably one of the most stubborn llamas, he’s a calm confident chap, who knows his own mind!
Steve is part of our trekking team and he is a confident happy chap, he is happy to take one human or two, he is happy to be in lead place, the middle or at the back of the trek. Steve is also intelligent enough to adapt his behaviour depending on how he feels his handler is, if it is someone more nervous, then he is impeccably well behaved, if it is someone more confident then the more cheeky side of Steve comes out! We are hoping that in the near future, Steve will become part of our stud male team too, and pass his handsome ccara llama looks onto some cria’s of his own!
Steve is pretty adaptable with his ideal human companion for treks, but we would say an adult or older teenager is best as he is still a youngster in terms of trekking!
Nidderdale Llamas is a family run trekking centre in the heart of Nidderdale. The farm is idyllically positioned and enjoys some fantastic views. Everyone who visits Kiln Farm always comments on its amazing location.
